Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
Getting excited, but only for one part of what i was hoping to be quite an adventure. Putting my imagination away …..
“Wish You Were Here”
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.
Oh its so funny to see this as I had a moment with this song this morning as it came on the radio whilst pulling into the car park at work. I love this song, although not a huge PF fan, it was a mindful start to the day, love this version too! X

It’s an australian cover band basically, they have been touring for 30 years this year! We’ve seen them live a few times, they really are fantastic.
I love PF, have had since I was a teen. Their big band sound is a fav of mine and the ‘out of the dark’ message of nearly all the songs kept me breathing when nothing else could. 🙂 TMI maybe, but I guess I felt like rambling!
Anyway, glad you enjoyed it!!

Yeah they’ve toured here, I think my mum saw them once. I used to enjoy the Australian Doors, maybe the best cover acts come from Oz! This one always springs tears somehow, it must tap into something or maybe I just find it incredibly beautiful x

I haven’t had the pleasure of watching the doors, maybe they will come ’round our way one day! *grin*
If you like that and enjoy instrumental (same type) you might enjoy the last album ‘The Endless River’. If you check it out, let me know what you think! The music is good but the lyrics is what has always drawn me to them 🙂
