Bored

I’m bored, tired, sore and a bit restless.

Trying to amuse myself, trying to start up some understanding of those of you who follow. So ….

English, German, or neither? What’s your poison?

      1. I’m sorry, I meant yes for pain, not surgery. I have raynaud’s and tendinitis. Right now they are freezing plus aching , stiff with some odd lumps and bumps here and there (tendons I think). The skin gets hard and stretched and the fingers turn to ‘sausages’, no room for movement. Imagine hitting your finger with a hammer, the ache and swelling, then imagine that all over … plus frostbite.
A bit long winded but it’s fairly accurate.
If you know what might help, PLEASE pass it along!

  1. I’ve tried everything on my hands and even have meds that don’t work. I have stiffness and swelling at times with my fingers and palm. Go to Walmart and get a paraffin wax hand bath. You dip your hands in and wrap them afterwards. It relieves the pain and gets rid of the stiffness.

      1. Yes it is. And cold tap water also makes my skin burn. I developed a condition after my surgery. My hand and wrist burn with pain.

      2. You can do it as often as you like. They have pretty scents of wax. It softens the thickness of skin. My orthopedic surgeon told me to try it. I had a treatment done at a beauty salon to see if it would help. I was scared of the heat since I was experiencing burning. I really hope it helps you. I depend on my hands to handle dogs. I thought I’d have to hang up my leash. It’s been a godsend.

      3. Now I can’t wait to go shopping! LoL that’s funny because I hate to shop. ;P
The only dogs I train are my two but I work with children and shoes, coats and diapers have become just torture! It’s why I cut back to part time in the first place, between my hands and my hips and back, I just couldn’t function. This will be at least one thing off my ‘hurt’ plate!

      4. It’s nice to do this before sleep. I can’t sleep when I’m in pain. I hope it helps you. Now I have to deal with my grouchy daughter who’s studying abroad. Complaining doesn’t stop from these kids no matter how old they get lol.

  2. I would second the recommendation for the paraffin bath. I used to have a terrible problem with pain in my hands, and then wax bath did the trick. It wasn’t a cure, merely a method to temporarily relieve the discomfort. Of course, this was when wax baths were akin to witchcraft, now they like CPAP machines are considered normal. Now my vintage violet wand from the 1920s..there’s a quack device!

      1. One spends 30 plus years doing something, they do end up with more than a few interesting odds and ends and ephemera. Bits and bobs and the occasional ‘OMG, you have one of THOSE??!?’. So yes, one of these days I’ll do a post or three about my toys. If for no other reason than to scrape off the dust. Or titillating those that are now able to follow….heh.

      2. Just an update for you, I still can’t get you in the reader and if I try to click on your ‘name’ to check you out I get an error! UGH
It takes me quite some time to be able to actually find your site to read. Usually through my email that I set up in the ‘follow’ setting.
I’m pretty sure anyone clicking on your name from my site/comments can not find you.

      3. Ok, that is puzzling. I don’t suppose a direct link would help any? I am getting more traffic, but I do think it’s from others’ that are coming from WordPress on the reader. I’m thinking that it might be that I set up the blog through my hosting server, not through WP itself. I apologize for the frustration!

      4. Well no apologies needed, it’s not you doing it. The traffic might be me trying to get to you by clicking links, I know I have tried a few times, it just never seems to work.
I suppose I could bookmark your site, I think I will actually! Just don’t want you to miss out otherwise! 🙂

      5. I think it’s been said if you have something worthwhile to say, people will find you no matter what roadblocks are thrown up in their path. So I’m here for the duration. We’ll see what happens in the near future. Thanks for continuing to make the effort in spite of the hardship!

      6. Well I’m not sure if it qualifies as hardship! *wink* But I do know that in the age of technology if you don’t ‘label’ it right it won’t be seen. I would suggest you use your ‘tags’ when writing, it might get more of the people seeing you, who really do need to ‘see’ ….
Sorry if I’m on a tangent here, I have run into too many stories lately of what people (non BDSM-ers) think is what we do. It would be nice to have them find people like you, too!

      7. I’ve been looking into the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the site and noticed it’s been 19 days since my Dashboard was synced to WP. Maybe that will help. Oy tags. Even when I was on LiveJournal I had the worst time tagging my posts! Something to start practicing again, eh? Quite true about the labeling thing. Once you leave sufficient ‘crumbs’ people will find their way to you. Or through other people yanking sleeves and dragging them to a place and saying. “hey, read this!”

Oy, I could write a treatise about the ‘vanillas’ and what they think about what we all do. For every Secretary, there’s about a hundred and Fifty Shades of Grey…or worse yet, plaid! *shudder*

  3. *Deep respectful bow, winking to the Bear in the background* Thank you for the compliment. I’m off to bed as I have to be up at the crack of 4:45 tomorrow. Kindly keep me apprised if my site happens to show up in your Reader? Thanks nijntje, you’re most definitely not only one of a kind, but a very memorable soul. G’nite.
